About RPI

The Regional Press Institute (RPI) is an innovative initiative which aims to meet the needs of further education and training of journalists and other professionals in the media, with emphasis on the Press of the regions. It is the only

institute with ongoing training in Greece, a non-profit organization, which has been created by a professional journalistic Union, namely the Daily Regional Newspapers Association. At the same time, the Institute aims to develop medium-term actions in the field of applied research, particularly in the studies concerning the history and prospects of development of the regional Press in Greece and abroad.

The objective of the Institute is to help carry out other events that are organized either by the local community or by universities in Greece and abroad, with a view to always serve the needs for training and exchange of views. Therefore, the RPI can, under certain conditions, provide the facilities where these events are not-profit and aimed at developing local communities, training and research.

The Institute has already collaborated with similar foreign institutes and university departments of journalism and media in Greece and other European countries with a view to more effective training and research.
